My Favorite Movie Quotes

One of the things I love most is watching movies!  I could probably stay in the house all day, propped up on the couch, munching on chips just watching old movies!  It could be any genre, but what tops my list would be romantic films.  I don't know, I guess I'm just a sucker for love and even if sometimes what happens in movies can never happen in reality, doesn't matter.  I will always be a fan of love and all it's splendor!

Here are some of my favorite quotes from romantic movies that I've watched.

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more; that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That's what you've given me and that's what I hope to give to you forever."

“I finally understood what true love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.”

"I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it."

"I would rather fight with you than make love to anyone else."

"I vow no matter what challenges might carry us apart that we will always find a way back to each other."

And lastly, from the movie P.S. I love you.  This was the letter written by Gerry played Gerald Butler to Holly played by Hillary Swank.  I was crying buckets watching this movie.

"Dear Holly, I don't have much time. I don't mean literally. I mean, you're out buying ice cream and you'll be home soon. But I have a feeling this is the last letter, because there is only one thing left to tell you. It isn't to go down memory lane or make you buy a lamp. You can take care of yourself without any help from me. It's to tell you how much you move me, how you changed me. You made me a man by loving me, Holly. And for that, I am eternally grateful... literally. If you can promise me anything, promise me that whenever you're sad, or unsure, or you lose complete faith, that you'll try to see yourself through my eyes. Thank you for the honor of being my wife. I'm a man with no regrets. How lucky am I? You made my life, Holly. But I'm just one chapter in yours. There'll be more. I promise. So here it comes, the big one. Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Watch out for that signal, when life as you know it ends. P.S. I will always love you."

Flippin Over Flipelas

One fact about me is that I have zero tolerance for high heels.  I easily trip when I walk.  As much as I would love to wear wedges and stilettos, I could only appreciate them and never get to actually wear them myself, because I might just twist my ankles and fall flat on my face.  I do have some high heeled shoes handy for special occasions, but my feet could only last for a few hours until they start complaining.  So, I always have a pair of slippers in the car just in case my feet starts to  feel sore!

That is why I am grateful for flip-flops, and even more grateful when a friend of mine came up with her own version of what we call "tsinelas".  Flipelas is an online store that sells hip, and funky flip-flops.  The ordinary slippers is made extra special with all the trinkets and cute designs.  They can even custom design for you, and take note each pair is hand crafted which gives that special touch!

I am a proud owner of 3 Flipelas and hopefully when I go home next week, I could drop by her place and get myself a new pair, *wink*

Aim To Be Happy

Things have been too hectic lately.  It seems that I always have so many things to do, yet so little time.  So today, I promised myself to just pause and find a moment to share my thoughts even for just a little while.

There are moments in our life when we seem to be uninspired to do anything.  It's like being caught in a sadness spell and all you want to do is "do nothing"!  But I realized that we should learn to overcome those moments and learn to find joy and inspiration over the simplest of things.

Life is too short to focus only on things that would make us sad.  Always aim to be happy, because happiness is like a switch that would bring light even in the gloomiest of days.

The Promise of A Sunrise

I guess one of the perks of working during the night shift is that I get to witness how the sun comes up every morning.  How the sky would slowly welcome the suns shining rays and bring in a brand new day.

I love the sunrise.  For me it is a promise of hope, of new beginnings, of second chances.  It is God's way of telling us to give life another try, an opportunity for us to correct our mistakes and move on to something better.

Each new day is a miracle in itself.  So face every sunrise with a hope that no matter what happens, life is good and that you should live it to the fullest, no fears, no regrets...

The Comforts of Childhood Memories

I have not been myself lately.  Sometimes thinking about all the bills to pay, running a household, keeping up with everything going on at school with the kids, and all the other responsibilities that I have can be overwhelming.

When I am troubled, I would always find myself going back and thinking about how life was for me when I was a kid.  It brings back happy memories of my childhood.  I did not have to worry about anything because as a kid, I always knew that my parents were there to take care of me. We were not rich, but my parents made sure I had everything I needed and even more,  I feel blessed because growing up, we were well provided for

That exact same thought would give me the courage to pull myself together because I am now a parent myself, with two kids depending on me.  I owe it to my children to make sure they would also have a happy childhood to look back to.

I may run into rough spots and trials now, but I would always think that despite everything I am still blessed.  Memories of my happy childhood would always bring me comfort and teaches me to live each day as it comes.
